Inter Milan are now under pressure to sell reported Arsenal target Achraf Hakimi, the Telegraph report.
AS Sport said earlier this summer that Arsenal were keen on the right wing-back, with Mikel Arteta and Edu wanting to wrap up a deal early on in the transfer window.
Unfortunately for Arsenal they do seem to have fallen behind Chelsea in the race for the Moroccan at this stage.
However, if the Gunners were to launch a bid then the latest reports may just suggest that there is hope that a transfer could be completed.
Inter are struggling financially, and it is claimed that the pressure is now rising on them to agree to Hakimi’s sale.
That would be a blow to the Serie A side as Hakimi, who was called ‘extraordinary’ by Ronaldo (Gazetta), has played such a key role in helping them earn the title this year.
Most appealing option?
If he was to move to Arsenal he would surely be one of the most appealing options available to replace Hector Bellerin.
Arsenal are desperate to land a new right-sided defender this summer, and Hakimi’s pace and quality going forward make him a very appealing target.
But with Chelsea pushing hard to seal a deal, Arsenal may have to make an offer sooner rather than later if they are to stand any chance of landing the defender – and with their budget only limited, that looks unlikely.
