According to 90min, West Ham are preparing to offer Jarrod Bowen a new contract in a bid to fend off interest from Liverpool.

What’s the story?

Well, 90min believe West Ham are ready to open talks with the £22m forward over a new deal, as Liverpool’s admiration for Bowen grows.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form so far this season, scoring four goals while also providing six assists.

As a result of Bowen’s efforts, Liverpool have continued to track his progress, having scouted him heavily during his time at Hull.

90min believe West Ham are conscious of their newfound status as a member of the Premier League’s top six, and feel the need to reward their players with contracts to match that standing.

90min add that the Hammers are also bracing themselves as they expect bids for Declan Rice in the summer.

It is also said that Nathan Ake and Sparta Prague wonderkid Adam Hlozek are targets for the Irons in January.

Jarrod Bowen could be heir to Mohamed Salah’s throne at Liverpool

Now, hear us out, as we’re aware that may sound ridiculous.

However, Bowen’s style of play is eerily similar to the way in which Mohamed Salah plays the game.

Both are left footed, and both tend to line up on the right flank where they can cut in and shoot on their stronger side.

Of course, Bowen is nowhere near as prolific as the Egyptian, but it must be noted that he’s five years younger.

In time, and with coaching from Jürgen Klopp, we see no reason why Bowen can’t become one of the best forwards in Europe, should he make the move to Anfield.
