Genoa are now making a second attempt to sign Arsenal’s Sokratis, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Sokratis appears to be up for sale at the Emirates Stadium, with a number of clubs coming in for the Arsenal man.
It was thought that Sokratis favoured a move to Real Betis, but the Spanish club have not finalised a deal for him yet.
And Genoa feel that they could be back in the race for the 32-year-old.
Genoa are now said to have opened ‘fresh talks’ with the £18 million Arsenal man (Guardian), as they look to persuade him to join them.
If Arsenal could offload Sokratis then it would be another boost to the club’s finances.

The central defender is a sizeable earner at the Emirates, but he appears to have no future in Mikel Arteta’s first team.
Arsenal are well stocked in central defence, and with so many options now ahead of him in the pecking order, it seems best for both player and club if he moves on.
