According to The Sun, Watford officials have made contact with Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding Ismaila Sarr.

It has been reported that Watford – who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League – will sell Sarr for £40 million.

Crystal Palace are interested in the 22-year-old winger, according to the report in the British tabloid, which has added that Vicarage Road chiefs have contacted Wolves about a possible transfer.

However, the Wanderers are not in a position to bid for the Senegal international, although they do like the youngster, according to the report.

Stats

According to WhoScored, Sarr made 22 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Watford this past season, scoring five goals and providing four assists in the process.

Too expensive?

Sarr is a very talented and promising young winger who did well for the Hornets this past season, but £40 million does seem a lot.

After all, the youngster has had just one season in the Premier League, and the 22-year-old is still developing.

Perhaps a fee of around £20 million would be more realistic.
