A player with whom Liverpool, West Ham United and Celtic were linked in the summer transfer window is discussing a new deal, according to Tuttomercatoweb.
Sampnews24 listed Liverpool, West Ham and Celtic – as well as Leicester City, West Bromwich Albion and Burnley – as Omar Colley suitors back in September.
And Calcionews24 claimed just last week that Sampdoria were doing everything to sell Colley, with Fulham ready to meet their request for €12 million (around £10.7m) through a loan-with-an-option-to-buy deal.
But the Serie A side are now said to be trying to avoid a scenario in which next summer arrives with the Gambian defender in the final year of his contract and his valuation, therefore, reduced.
Whether or not Sampdoria’s intention remains to raise funds through Colley’s sale is unclear, though the fact they have used him just four times all season suggests it might be.
Of Liverpool, West Ham and Celtic, the former club currently appear to be the most in need of reinforcements in Colley’s position, given the long-term absence of both Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

But only time will tell if the 28-year-old is on either team’s list come the January transfer window.
