Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is on the radar of Lille, according to The Daily Record.
Morelos, who is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and a key figure in Steven Gerrard’s Rangers team, is reportedly wanted by French club Lille as a possible successor to Victor Osimhen.
The forward is leaving the French club to move to Napoli for an initial transfer fee of €70 million (£63.79 million), according to the report.
The same reported has quoted Morelos as telling Caracol this week that he would like to play in England, Spain or France, as those leagues are “regarded as at a higher level than Scotland”.
Rangers stay
Morelos is a very good striker, and one can understand why Lille reportedly want the Colombia international.
However, with the new Scottish Premiership season to start next month, it is hard to see Gerrard sanction a move away for the striker even if the club are offered a lot of money.
After all, Rangers are aiming to stop bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th season in a row in 2020-21.
