Riqui Puig may have been offered to Leeds United on loan, but their chances of signing him on a permanent deal have been played down by EuroSport.
Barcelona are looking to get Puig more regular first-team action and Leeds are apparently one of the clubs they feel he would be best placed to impress at.
With Marcelo Bielsa demanding a high level of technical ability from his players, Puig could be perfectly placed to slot into Leeds’ midfield.
However, Barca would only see the move to Elland Road as a very temporary one.
The Catalan giants apparently feel that the 21-year-old, who was described as ‘spectacular’ by Gennaro Gattuso (Goal), has an extremely bright future, and they are keen to tie him down for the long-term.
Indeed, EuroSport claims that Puig may well sign a new contract with Barca before he even heads out on loan.

If he does pen a new deal then Leeds would have to weigh up the value of doing a deal.
Although Puig’s arrival would give them a player of real quality for the rest of the season, he would only ever be a temporary fix, and Leeds may prefer to look at options who can stick around on a longer-term basis.
