Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira faces an anxious wait to see if his move to Atletico Madrid will go through, Goal suggest.
Torreira and Atleti have apparently reached a ‘total agreement’ over his move, with the midfielder keen to join the La Liga side.
Arsenal are also willing to loan Torreira to Atletico for the season, with the transfer set to be made permanent next summer.
However, at the last minute, Atletico are now apparently stalling over completing the deal.
Diego Simeone’s side are said to want to offload a player first before they bring in Torreira to ensure that they don’t go over their wage budget.
Atleti are keen to listen to offers for Hector Herrera, but they have not been forthcoming so far, and that means that Torreira is now in a state of limbo.
He is clearly not wanted at Arsenal, but it is still not certain that he will end up in the Spanish capital, despite being so close to a move.

In all likelihood Torreira will depart Arsenal this summer, but with time running out in the transfer window, the Gunners may be hoping that the deal goes through sooner rather than later.
Arsenal are looking to raise funds to finance a bid for Houssem Aouar of Lyon, and Torreira’s exit could help them in that regard.
