Valencia have told Arsenal that they want to get an answer from them regarding Matteo Guendouzi by this weekend, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Valencia want to sign Guendouzi from Arsenal on a season-long loan deal with ‘a fixed option’ to make the move permanent in the summer of 2021 for £16 million.

The Spanish club have held talks with the 21-year-old midfielder’s representatives and want an answer from the Gunners by this coming weekend, according to the report.

The Mirror has claimed that Arsenal are keen on offloading the Frenchman and would prefer to sell him.

Taking the deal?

If there is an obligation from Valencia to sign Guendouzi permanently next summer for £16 million, then Arsenal should take the deal, if indeed they are keen on offloading the Frenchman.

True, selling Guendouzi now would make the Gunners some decent money, but if they are able to send him to Valencia on loan, then his wages would be off their books.

However, perhaps Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta should give the 21-year-old another chance to show that he can succeed under him.
