Franck Kessie to Liverpool is a transfer story that’s been heating up in recent weeks – and there may be a positive development on this front.
It was reported on September 15 [Il Milanista] that Liverpool had held talks with AC Milan about bringing the Ivorian midfielder to Anfield in January.
With Kessie out of contract next summer, he could even potentially leave the Italian giants on a free transfer.
And it was reported by El Nacional earlier this month that the Reds were readying a massive signing-on offer of £26 million to get him – double what Barcelona have offered.
That, if true, shows just how serious Liverpool are about bringing him to Merseyside.
And according to a report in Italy, it’s looking increasingly likely that he will not stay at San Siro beyond next summer.
Calciomercato have reported that Milan have identified 20-year-old Tomas Handel as a replacement for the 24-year-old which, if true, suggests that they aren’t expecting him to stay at the club despite a new contract offer.

The idea that the Rossoneri are looking elsewhere is indeed a very good sign and if all the speculation regarding Kessie is true – which is a big IF – then you have to believe Liverpool boast a big chance of landing him.
With a signing-on fee of that magnitude, not to mention the fact that he could be playing for Jurgen Klopp, this one is looking very promising for the German and Michael Edwards, it has to be said.
