West Ham United are preparing a last minute contract offer for Jeremy Ngakia, according to the Guardian, even though they fear he will leave.

Read Liverpool have suggested that Liverpool have made contact with Ngakia’s agent, as he is heading out of contract in the summer.

Liverpool will have to compete with Watford for the young right-back’s signature, but West Ham are also trying to persuade him to stay.

Ngakia has already rejected one contract offer from the Hammers, and is said to be prepared to leave at the end of the month.

However, West Ham want to change his mind and will offer him a contract, even though they fear that his head has been turned.

At the moment it seems that Watford is the youngster’s most likely destination, but Liverpool’s interest remains in the background and Jurgen Klopp’s side could yet make a bid.

If Ngakia was to move to Liverpool he would be in competition with Trent Alexander Arnold for a first-team spot.

To lose Ngakia for free would be a blow to West Ham as he is considered one of their top prospects, and has been handed a handful of first-team opportunities this term.
