According to Sport Ro, Bochum have entered ‘last minute’ negotiations to sign Ianis Hagi from Rangers, with Sevilla and Lazio already in discussions.

Now, we’re not quite sure why the Romanian news outlet have described the talks as ‘last minute’ – the transfer window isn’t even open yet.

We can only imagine that Sport Ro mean Bochum have gatecrashed Sevilla and Lazio’s negotiations to sign the 16-cap Romania international.

Sport Ro state that Bochum would like to bring Hagi to Germany if they achieve promotion to the Bundesliga, so have already began talks.

They also say it would be a ‘shock’ deal if it goes through.

It definitely would. Bochum – currently playing in Germany’s second tier – are simply not on the level of Sevilla or Lazio.

After all, Sevilla played in this season’s Champions League!

In our view, we simply can’t see Hagi leaving Ibrox.

Especially not with Rangers about to embark on a Champions League campaign of their own.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a fine season for the Gers, scoring seven goals while recording 13 assists in 43 appearances.

Steven Gerrard is also, of course, a huge fan, describing his No.7 as a ‘dream’ to work with in quotes supplied by the Scottish Sun.

If Hagi were to leave Glasgow this summer, we’d be truly shocked.
