Liverpool reportedly face competition for Fabio Carvalho from AC Milan, a club Luis Diaz scored against in the UEFA Champions League this season.
According to CalcioMercato, the Italian giants are following the playmaker and view him as a ‘diamond’ of a talent. Liverpool are also keen on Carvalho, with the Reds coming moments away from signing the teenager on deadline day.
As per Sky Sports News, a deal was in place to sign the Fulham youngster. However, the transfer collapsed in the final moments, leaving Liverpool empty-handed and now eyeing a move for Carvalho in the summer, with Milan now also in the chase.
The Italian giants have made a push in recent years to sign younger players with promising potential to incredible results, with Milan qualifying for this season’s UEFA Champions League where the Rossoneri were embarrassed by Diaz in a 1-0 loss to FC Porto.
And now, Milan are eyeing Carvalho with a view of repeating their success with their last English signing in Fikayo Tomori, who has been one of Serie A’s best centre-backs since joining from Chelsea last January.
Indeed, whilst Liverpool remain the favourites for Carvalho, Milan’s interest could be a danger to the Reds, with the Italian side one of the few clubs in Europe who can match the Merseyside club’s prestige and allure.
Liverpool have got to sign Carvalho before Milan plot move

With Milan now in the race, Liverpool should feel some danger that they could miss out on Carvalho after coming so close to the teenager in January.
The English youth international is the right profile of player that has thrived at Milan in recent years, and for Liverpool, they must step up efforts in the coming weeks to win the race for Carvalho, who could become a star for the Anfield club in the forthcoming years.
