Real Betis are reportedly ‘determined’ to get rid of William Carvalho this summer, amid speculation about a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
T20 reported this past weekend that Spurs and a number of Premier League clubs were interested in the Portugal international.
The 28-year-old midfielder is one of Betis’ highest earners and the Primera Division club are desperate to sell the reported Tottenham target, according to AS in Spain.
The report adds that Jose Mourinho is a fan of the former Sporting Lisbon star and wants him in North London when the transfer window opens.
Carvalho is one of those names who was linked to a series of Premier League clubs a few years ago.
But by virtue of the fact that he’s 28 and playing for Real Betis, he’s either a hugely underrated player or, more likely, isn’t good enough for an elite club like Tottenham.
Mourinho has an abundance of quality midfielders at his disposal, even if some are linked with moves away, and it’ll be interesting to see if this one genuinely has legs.
Logically, it doesn’t seem all that plausible.
