According to Sport, Real Madrid could now sack Carlo Ancelotti just months after taking him from Everton, with Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp wanted.
What’s the story?
Well, Florentino Perez is said to be furious with Real Madrid’s defensive performance against Paris Saint-Germain last night.
Los Blancos succumbed to a 1-0 defeat, and the Italian – who quit Everton in June 2021 – could now pay for the defeat with his job.
Real Madrid wanted Mauricio Pochettino, and only pinched Ancelotti from Everton as they couldn’t lure the Argentine to Spain.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Toffees were paid a compensation fee of €5m (£4m) for their troubles.
Now, Klopp is in Real Madrid’s sights, with Perez a huge admirer of the Liverpool boss.
The German has a contract at Anfield until June 2024, so it will be very difficult to prise him away from the Reds, in our view.
Everton should be annoyed, Liverpool shouldn’t worry

If we were Farhad Moshiri, we’d be livid.
Real Madrid caused major disruption at Goodison Park back in the summer when hiring Ancelotti, leading to the botched appointment of Rafa Benitez, which led to even more toxicity.
Now, the Spanish giants are considering getting rid of the Italian after one defeat, which, in our view, is ridiculous.
Real Madrid sit top of La Liga, and can easily overturn the 1-0 first leg defeat to PSG when the second leg comes around.
One thing’s for certain – Liverpool shouldn’t be worried by this news.

Florentino Perez mocked Klopp after he complained about the stadium in Liverpool’s 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in Spain last year.
The 74-year-old taunted the German by referencing Liverpool’s 2018 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in Kyiv.
Perez said: “I don’t know why he doesn’t like it. For us, Valdebebas and Kyiv is the same… 3-1. It’s the same pitch.”
Klopp is a man of values, and he’s also admitted previously that he doesn’t like the commercial emphasis some clubs put on football.
Therefore, we simply cannot envisage him managing Real Madrid.
