Arsenal’s move for Houssem Aouar could be made more complicated by an unnamed Champions League club, the Telegraph suggest.
Arsenal have been battling to sign Aouar for much of the summer so far, with the Lyon midfielder one of Mikel Arteta’s top targets.
At the moment the Gunners have been unable to agree a fee for the 22-year-old, who is said to be valued at £54 million currently.
And Arsenal’s task of getting a deal over the line may just have become even harder.
Aouar now apparently knows that a Champions League side are planning to make a late bid for him this summer.
With Arsenal failing to make the top four last season, they simply cannot offer the Frenchman football in Europe’s elite competition.

It now remains to be seen whether Aouar’s knowledge of the mounting interest in him makes him reticent to agree to a move to the Emirates Stadium.
But Arsenal will be hoping that Aouar doesn’t have his head turned by the latest reports, as Le10 Sport have claimed that they are about to step up their chase for him very soon.
