Sao Paulo are not concerned about speculation surrounding reported Arsenal target Brenner, thanks in part to a prohibitive £45 million release clause in his contract, as reported by Globo Esporte.

The Gunners might have defied their seemingly worrisome financial situation while breaking the bank for Thomas Partey on deadline day. But it is one thing to pay a huge sum for a proven, top-class operator with La Liga and Champions League experience under his belt.

Brenner might have a similar price-tag to Partey hanging around his neck, yet that is where the similarities end.

The 20-year-old has never kicked a ball in Europe at club level and there is no guarantee that he would be able to immediately adapt to life at a bona fide Premier League giant.

Nonetheless, Calciomercato reports that Arsenal are battling Juventus, AC Milan and Ajax for the Brazil youth star.

Real Madrid, who have spent substantial fees on Samba superkids Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo Goes and Reinier Jesus in recent years, have also been watching Brenner for months now (DC).

The view from Sao Paulo, however, is that Brenner is going nowhere just yet.

Globo Esporte claim that the talismanic top-scorer feels at ‘home’ in South America.

Furthermore, Sao Paulo believe they are well protected by a £45 million release clause; one that is unlikely to be triggered in January as Europe’s biggest clubs count the cost of an ongoing financial crisis.

In fact, Sao Paulo are so confident right now that they are not even planning to open talks over a new contract.

Brenner has scored 17 goals in 26 games this season, earning comparisons with Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus along the way.
