Spartak Moscow are confident of signing Serge Aurier from Tottenham before the 5 October deadline after the north London club signed a new right-back, according to Sky Sports.
The report states the Russian outfit made enquiries for Aurier earlier this month.
It also mentions the former Paris Saint-Germain man is open to the move as he believes new signing Matt Doherty will limit his chances of first-team football.
Aurier – a 60-cap Ivory Coast international – arrived at Tottenham in a deal worth about £23 million, according to the BBC.
Since his 2017 arrival, the 27-year-old has made 83 appearances for the north Londoners, scoring six goals and recording 14 assists.

While he has often been rash in defence and sometimes loses his head, it seems strange Tottenham would be willing to let Aurier leave.
Before Doherty’s arrival, the Ivorian was the only senior right-back at the club following Kyle Walker-Peters’ move to Southampton.
The fact Spurs are in the Europa League this season means they need all the depth they can get.

If Mourinho can recoup a fair chunk of the £23 million spent on Aurier and sign a new back-up right-back, Aurier’s sale may be seen as good business.
However, selling him and leaving it at that could be a risky move.
