Castellon are already planning to make a move to return to try and sign Pablo Hernandez from Leeds United this summer, the Athletic reports.

Castellon wanted Hernandez in January, but Leeds refused to let the playmaker go at that stage.

The Whites decided that keeping hold of the attacking midfielder was too important for them, even though he has only had limited game time this season.

But the Spanish club have not given up all hope and now could return to take Hernandez off Leeds in the summer.

The 36-year-old, who was hailed as ‘sensational’ by Danny Mills (Sportology), may be disappointed that he hasn’t featured more this campaign, but his exclusion is said to purely be down to footballing reasons.

Hernandez and Marcelo Bielsa had a slight disagreement earlier in the campaign, but that was reportedly dealt with swiftly.

Hernandez is now simply missing out as Bielsa is favouring other options in his Leeds’ squad.

That is, perhaps, understandable – despite the quality that Hernandez obviously possesses with the ball at his feet.

The pace of the Premier League, combined with the demands of Leeds’ high pressing style, mean that Hernandez isn’t the perfect fit right now – given his advancing years.

And Leeds may be more willing to let him leave Elland Road in the summer, if Castellon do come back in for him.
