According to Globo Esporte, São Paulo have received a bid from Arsenal for Marquinhos, as the Gunners look to bring him to the Premier League.
What’s the story?
Well, it seems as if the 19-year-old wonderkid is heading to Arsenal.
Globo Esporte believe São Paulo have decided to accept Arsenal’s bid, or else Marquinhos will leave for free, and the deal should be done soon.
The teenager actually has a contract with the Brazilian giants running until May 2024, although that agreement was said to have breached FIFA regulations.
It was permitted on the ruling of the Pelé Law, although as far as FIFA are concerned, a maiden contractual agreement can only last a maximum of three years in Brazil.

Marquinhos signed his contract in 2019, so to avoid losing one of their brightest prospects for nothing, São Paulo will accept the offer from Arsenal, which is said to be worth very little to them anyway.
By the sounds of it, Arsenal have pounced on an exciting opportunity, and could now sign one of Brazil’s biggest talents for peanuts – if they can agree personal terms with him.
Marquinhos could shine at Arsenal
In our view, Marquinhos has the ideal environment to thrive at the Emirates Stadium.
It would normally be daunting for a teenager to arrive in the Premier League from Brazil, a division which is arguably the hardest in Europe.

However, Marquinhos will have the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhães to help him settle in north London, who he can speak to in his native tongue.
In Mikel Arteta, the Brazil Under-17 international will also have a manager who clearly puts a lot of trust in young talent, such as Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.
Keep an eye on this situation, as it sounds like Marquinhos could soon be joining Arsenal.
