Newcastle United fit the description of the club who could be interested in appointing Laurent Blanc, according to Le10 Sport.

The French outlet claims that a club who are close to having new owners could be an option for Blanc, who is currently out of work.

Although the report does not name Newcastle, one writer for the website, Alexis Bernard, has written on Twitter that the Magpies could be a potential option.

And the report does seem to suggest that Newcastle could be the unnamed club who want the 54-year-old.

Newcastle’s new owners are thought to be looking for a higher profile manager than Steve Bruce.

While Bruce has done a credible job this term there is a feeling that a new manager could really push Newcastle up the Premier League table.

Blanc has had good success in his managerial career so far, leading Bordeaux to the Ligue 1 title, and winning the league with PSG three times during his stay there.

Blanc has also managed the French national team, and if he was to arrive at Newcastle he could be an eye catching appointment.
