Report claims when Leeds United hope to have Berardi and Pennington back

Leeds United duo Gaetano Berardi and Matthew Pennington suffered injuries against Bolton Wanderers earlier this month.

Leeds United hope to have defenders Gaetano Berardi and Matthew Pennington back in action next month, according to The Yorkshire Evening Post.

Berardi, who can operate as a right-back or as a left-back, is out of action at the moment with a shoulder problem.

As for Pennington, who joined Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Everton in the summer transfer window and can play as a centre-back or a right-back, is currently on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

interestingly, both the 28-year-old and the 22-year-old suffered their respective injuries during Leeds’s game against Bolton Wanderers away from home at the Macron Stadium on the opening weekend of the Championship season earlier this month.

According to The Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are hopeful that both Pennington and Berardi will return to contention next month.

Leeds have done quite well without the duo so far, and there is just one more game for the Whites before the international break.

Winning against Nottingham Forest away from home at the City Ground in the Championship on Saturday evening will not be easy, but if Thomas Christiansen’s side are able to pick up even a point, then the team can head into the international break very happy.
