Barcelona reportedly wanted Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by the Spanish publication that Argentina international forward Messi – who has a release clause of €700 million (£605.37m) in his contract, as reported by FourFourTwo – has not been impressed by Eriksen’s form during the current difficult period of Spurs.
The 32-year-old does not believe that the Denmark international attacking midfielder has the character to play for Barcelona, according to the report.
According to El Desmarque, Barcelona wanted to sign Eriksen from Tottenham in the summer transfer window in exchange for Ivan Rakitic and Carlos Alena.
Stats
Eriksen has been on the books of Tottenham since 2013 when he joined from Ajax and is out of contract at the Premier League club at the end of the season.
According to WhoScored, the 27-year-old attacking midfielder has made six starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process.
