West Ham United and Everton have both been linked with moves for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Jack Wilshere of Arsenal runs with the ball during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Arsenal at London Stadium on December 13, 2017 in London, England.

West Ham are the favourites to sign Wilshere on a free transfer after his departure from Arsenal was confirmed – as reported by the likes of The Daily Star – while Everton have also been linked, as reported by talkSPORT.

Wilshere, who comes from a family of West Ham fans, is out of contract after leaving Arsenal following reports he told he will be no more than a fringe player by new boss Unai Emery, according to talkSPORT.

The Daily Mirror claims new Gunners boss Unai Emery offered the 26-year-old a new deal with the disclaimer that he was not guaranteed to start under his new regime.

And that has alerted London rivals West Ham and Everton who are both under new managers and looking to improve on disappointing seasons last term.

The England international was hurt after being omitted from Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup this summer.

And his social media tail suggests he is ready for a new challenge this summer.

But a new report from Sky Sports claims West Ham and Everton face a tough task if they do want to sign Wilshere as they just two of seven clubs at home and abroad vying for his signature.

“Wilshere (has been) weighing up the number of first-team playing opportunities he would get at Arsenal under new manager Unai Emery against potential playing time elsewhere,” Sky sources claim.

“Newspaper reports have linked Wilshere with a move to Premier League sides Crystal Palace, West Ham, Everton and Wolves, as well as Serie A’s Juventus, AC Milan and Sampdoria.”

Wilshere’s current deal runs out on July 1st, allowing him to join a new club on a free transfer this summer.

Wilshere has struggled with injuries in recent years but played 38 times for Arsenal last season in what proved to be Arsene Wenger’s final campaign at the club.
