West Ham United are reportedly closing in on a deal for Carlos Bacca.
According to the Telegraph, West Ham United have agreed a £26 million fee with AC Milan over the signing of Colombia international striker Carlos Bacca.
The report claims that after much negotiation a fee has been settled between the two clubs, and now the player is in talks over a switch to East London on a contract worth £65,000 per week.
West Ham have made no secret of their desire to sign a new striker this summer, with the club’s owners David Gold and David Sullivan looking to add the finishing touches to a potential top-four squad.
A place in the Champions League is the ultimate goal for the Hammers, and with Carlos Bacca in their ranks their bid for a top-four spot will be strengthening considerably going in to the new season.
Bacca has been one of Europe’s finest strikers over the past few seasons, first helping Sevilla to win successive Europa League titles before topping Milan’s scoring charts last term.
The report highlights West Ham’s attempts to sign the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Michy Batshuayi, Vincent Janssen and Christian Benteke this summer, and it appears they’ve finally landed with Bacca.
The 29-year-old is also said to be a target for Atletico Madrid, but the East London club are hopeful of concluding a deal for the striker who netted 20 goals in all competitions last season.
