West Bromwich Albion have been linked with Troy Deeney of Watford in the January transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion are close to signing Troy Deeney from Premier League rivals Watford in the January transfer window, according to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 60, Sunday, January 28, 2018).

It has been reported by the British tabloid that West Brom are at an advanced stage to secure the services of the strike in a £21 million deal.

The Baggies reportedly wanted to sign the 29-year-old in the summer of 2017, but they were put off by the Hornets’ valuation of £35m of the striker at the time.

Deeney is struggling for playing time at Watford at the moment, and it would make sense for the striker to switch to West Brom.

The Baggies are struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment, and a player of Deeney’s experience and quality is certainly going to enhance their chances of escaping the drop to the Championship at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has scored two goals and provided two assists in eight Premier League starts for Watford so far this season.
