Newcastle United signed Salomon Rondon on loan from West Bromwich Albion, while Dwight Gayle moved in the opposite direction.

Newcastle signed Venezuela international striker Rondon on loan from Championship club West Brom in the summer transfer window.
The Baggies secured the services of 29-year-old former Crystal Palace striker Gayle on loan from the Magpies in the summer of 2018.
Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has suggested to The Chronicle that he is interested in signing Rondon on a permanent contract (click here to read more).
According to The Express & Star, if the Magpies do make an approach to make Rondon’s loan deal permanent, then West Brom will want the same for Gayle and cash on top.

Expensive
Rondon is the main striker at Newcastle, and it seems that if Benitez wants the the 29-year-old on a permanent basis, then it will be expensive for the Magpies.
While Newcastle are struggling for survival in the Premier League at the moment, West Brom are aiming to win automatic promotion from the Championship.
