Burnley are said to have bid £8 million for one West Bromwich Albion star during the summer transfer window.

The Telegraph reports that West Bromwich Albion will consider a bid for Burnley’s Ben Mee if they cannot hold on to Jonny Evans in January.
It is claimed that Evans, who is said to be a target for Arsenal, Manchester City and Everton, could fetch around £30 million.
But while West Brom would be well-placed to bid for Mee if such a deal goes ahead, the Telegraph reports reports that Burnley are reluctant to lose the 28-year-old, who is one of just three senior centre-halves at Turf Moor.

Nevertheless, there is a way in which West Brom could potentially twist their arm. The report reveals that Burnley offered £8 million for James McClean during the summer transfer window, and have maintained an interest in the Baggies winger.
Thus, it is claimed that West Brom may opt to include McClean in any offer to Burnley, who recently lost the Irishman’s international teammate Robbie Brady to a season-ending knee injury.
However, it is likely that Burnley would have to source a replacement for Mee before any such deal could go ahead.
