West Brom are allegedly closing in on Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor.
According to The Sun, West Bromwich Albion are closing in on a deal to sign Leeds United left back Charlie Taylor during this month’s transfer window.
The Baggies continue to impress under Tony Pulis this season, as Saturday’s 2-1 win away at Southampton means they head into 2017 sitting in eighth place in the Premier League table.
Pulis will be hoping to make a couple of clever additions during the January transfer window, and one position that needs strengthening is at left back.

Summer signing Brendan Galloway has barely featured since joining on loan from Everton, Chris Brunt has impressed further forward, and Allan Nyom hasn’t looked completely comfortable on the left.
Now, The Sun claim that West Brom have identified their top target at left back, with the Baggies allegedly closing in on a deal for Leeds United star Charlie Taylor.

The 23-year-old has starred for Leeds since becoming their first-choice left back in 2015 following Stephen Warnock’s move to Derby County, and his performances have seen him attract Premier League interest over the last year.
Leeds’ big problem is that Taylor is out of the contract at the end of the season, and having missed the last two games – allegedly through injury – rumours are swirling over Taylor’s future.
It’s claimed that West Brom are now nearing a deal for Taylor, but with Leeds pushing for promotion back to the Premier League, it would surely have to take a huge fee for the Whites to consider a deal.
Leeds released a statement on their official website back in August stating that they had rejected a transfer request from Taylor, and Leeds could feasibly tie him down to a new contract if they do win promotion – but if West Brom put huge money on the table, it may just be too good for the Whites to turn down.
