According to a report from Foot Mercato, Andre Villas-Boas has been following Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham for more than a year with Marseille now ready interested in signing the Frenchman this summer.

Ntcham’s Parkhead future appears to have a question mark hanging over it, with the Daily Record reporting that the Ligue 1 side’s scouts have been watching the £4 million ace regularly.

And it appears that Ntcham has got the perfect manager in place if he is keen to leave the Hoops to head to Stade Velodrome this summer following the recent appointment of Villas-Boas.

Foot Mercato suggests that the former Chelsea boss is as much of an admirer of Ntcham as Marseille, with the Portuguese keeping a close eye on the midfielder’s progress ever since he held talks with Porto about a move last summer.

Ntcham is obviously a fantastic talent. But it has arguably been fair to say that he has not been quite as influential during his second year with the Bhoys as he was in the season following his move to Manchester City.

And while Neil Lennon would surely love to keep the 23-year-old beyond the summer, perhaps there will be plenty of Celtic fans who would suggest it may be time to cash in if Marseille end up making a substantial offer in the coming weeks.
