Leeds United are currently thriving under the management of Garry Monk, as Massimo Cellino appears to have finally landed on a winning formula.
But one of the managers that suffered his wrath before Monk arrived has also been doing well this season.
Uwe Rosler has guided Fleetwood Town to an automatic promotion spot in recent weeks, with one of the key reasons the January arrival of German Markus Schwabl.
He has been sensational in the holding midfield role of Rosler’s 3-5-2 formation at Highbury, despite being better known as a right-back prior to the switch.
Now it has emerged that Rosler had wanted him at Leeds.

The Guardian reports that the midfield destroyer was on Rosler’s shortlist at Elland Road. The German only lasted 12 matches in charge at the club so may have never actually had the chance of signing the player.
Leeds are of course currently blessed with plenty of options in central midfield, including the superbly talented teen Ronaldo Vieira, so are not missing out on Schwabl at present.
But judging on how impressive the former VfR Aalen star has been since his move to England the club may regret not having him around Thorp Arch in the near future.
