Liverpool are reportedly willing to trump Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the Aston Villa midfielder.

Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of landing Jack Grealish could be under threat, with Liverpool emerging as ‘genuine competition’ for the Aston Villa midfielder’s signature – that is according to the Sun.
The newspaper reports that Daniel Levy is ‘attempting to force’ Villa into a £20 million sale – despite the Championship side wanting twice that for the player Mauricio Pochettino has made Tottenham’s ‘number one summer target’.
And it is claimed the Argentine could now miss out on Grealish, with Liverpool willing to trump Spurs’ maximum offer – ‘changing the complexion of the transfer completely’.

Levy is said to have been confident the Aston Villa player wanted a move to Tottenham this summer, and was in a ‘powerful haggling position’ with only Leicester City and Everton for competition.
However, Liverpool’s ability to offer Champions League football as an incentive could now leave Spurs – who will also feature in next season’s competition – with their work cut out.

Liverpool recently saw a £55 million move for Nabil Fekir fall through, and Grealish would make for a cheaper – albeit considerably less polished – alternative to the Lyon playmaker.
Would Liverpool or Tottenham be a better move for Aston Villa’s Grealish?
