According to The Athletic, Tottenham Hotspur defender Dennis Cirkin looks up to fellow left back Danny Rose.

It’s claimed that Cirkin admires Rose and both looked up to and learned from the former England international in an effort to push towards the Spurs first team.

The report adds that Cirkin has great ‘coachability’, which is what Tottenham coaches loved about Harry Kane and Harry Winks.

Cirkin has been praised by Jose Mourinho, meaning a first-team debut surely isn’t too far away for the teenager.

The problem is that Sergio Reguilon and Ben Davies are in the left back pecking order, so Cirkin has a tough path ahead of him if he’s to play first-team football.

The 18-year-old Irishman has a big future ahead of him, and whilst Rose is an outcast and Tottenham and won’t play for the club again, his input could be invaluable.

Rose, 30, has made nearly 300 career appearances, with more than 200 coming for Tottenham, whilst he also has 29 England caps.

Rose has so much experience and know-how that Cirkin will have found him to be a great resource – and in all truth, he is likely already ahead of Rose in the Spurs pecking order.
