Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with Porto’s Hector Herrera.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in landing Porto midfielder Hector Herrera when the transfer window re-opens.
It’s well-publicised at this point, but Tottenham were the only Premier League team to fail to bring in a new signing during the summer transfer window, leaving Mauricio Pochettino to essentially work with last season’s squad again.
Fans will be hoping for major investment in January in order to boost Pochettino’s options, and a midfielder should be a priority given questions over Mousa Dembele’s future.
The Belgian ace continues to be linked with a move to China, and with his contract expiring next summer, Dembele could be on the way out of the club one way or another in 2019.
Now, Calciomercato report that Tottenham are interested in signing Porto ace Hector Herrera, challenging Roma for his signature when the transfer window re-opens.
Herrera, 28, has starred for Porto since his 2013 move from Pachuca, and he has now racked up nearly 200 appearances for the Portuguese giants, playing a key part in last season’s title win.

Herrera impressed for Mexico at the World Cup this summer, and he has earned praise for his work rate in midfield, providing relentless energy and real box-to-box quality in the middle of the park.
The midfielder doesn’t really fit Tottenham’s usual mould though, as he will be 29 in April, and Porto would demand a considerable fee for his services, with Pochettino and Daniel Levy surely preferring a younger option if Dembele does move on.
