According to the Daily Mail, Rangers trio Bruno Alves, Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera could be on the move during the January transfer window.

The Gers backed former boss Pedro Caixinha with a raft of new signings over the summer, and it’s fair to say that his additions have been a mixed bag.

Caixinha – who was sacked back in October – brought in one big-name signing as Bruno Alves made a shock move from Cagliari to join the Gers.

The Portuguese international defender, 36, has endured a hit and miss campaign though, and with Caixinha gone, he has been in and out of the team under caretaker Graeme Murty.

Now, the Daily Mail report that Alves could be on the move in January having attracted interest from a club in the Middle East, and the defender may well look to leave if he feels his place in Portugal’s World Cup squad is at risk.

Alves isn’t the only summer signing who may be leaving Ibrox though, as it’s claimed that Mexican duo Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera could depart on loan after Caixinha took over at Cruz Azul in Mexico.

Midfielder Pena was Caixinha’s most expensive signing but has yet to really live up to expectations, whilst striker Herrera – who worked with Caixinha at Santos Laguna – has been a huge disappointment in attack.

Reunions with Caixinha would make sense, and Rangers may choose to part ways with three of Caixinha’s main signings once the January transfer window opens.
