Tottenham Hotspur continue to tie down their star players to new long-term deals.
A report from the Mirror suggests that Toby Alderweireld will be the next big-name Spurs star to sign a new long-term deal with the club.
The Belgium international has established himself as one of the finest centre-backs in European football over the past two seasons, but has unfortunately suffered terrible luck with injuries so far this term.
Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld
The 27-year-old is certainly thought of as one of Mauricio Pochettino’s most valuable assets, and the Mirror claim that Chairman Daniel Levy is keen on tying him up for another five years.
Although Spurs do not spend the kind of money that their fans would like, they deserve credit for tying so many of their best players down to new deals, unlike their fierce rivals Arsenal.

There were claims made last month that Alderweireld has a £25 million release clause in his contract (the Mirror), but those reports were strongly refuted by Tottenham.
And if the Belgian commits the next five years of his career to the Lilywhites, any speculation regarding his future will be put firmly to bed.
