Stuart Armstrong will leave Celtic at the end of next season, according to The Sun.
Armstrong has been on the books of Celtic since February 2015 and has a contract with the Scottish Premiership giants until June 2018, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been superb for the Bhoys so far this season and has established himself as a key figure in Brendan Rodgers’s team.
According to The Sun, Armstrong’s performances have impressed scouts of clubs from England, but he will leave Celtic at the end of next season to play in mainland Europe.
“Armstrong is keen on a spell in Europe to help his game and that will be a blow to his admirers in the Premier League – and also a shock to the Scottish giants who will get little compensation for him,” states the report in The Sun.
Armstrong is a very good midfielder, and he has developed and progressed well this season.
It would be a massive loss for Celtic if the Scotland international decides to leave Celtic Park at the end of next season.
However, Celtic are a big club and will have no problem in attracting quality players should Armstrong leave.
While the Bhoys should try to convince Armstrong that he should remain at the club, if the midfielder is determined to leave, then the fans should not worry too much about finding a suitable replacement.
