Tottenham Hotspur look to have missed out on Barcelona talent Riqui Puig.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have managed to convince Riqui Puig to stay and ignore interest from Tottenham Hotspur – and the player has taken to Twitter to hint at similar.
Barca’s success with their La Masia academy has slowed down in recent years, but there has been plenty of excitement about midfielder Puig.
The 18-year-old, born in Catalunya, has been starring for the club’s Juvenil A side, and with three appearances for Barcelona B already, he looks set for a bright future.
However, speculation has surrounded his future of late, with SPORT reporting on Friday that Puig was all set to become Tottenham’s first signing of the summer having failed to agree a new deal with Barca.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is allegedly a huge fan of Puig, and was close to luring him to North London – but there appears to have been a twist in the tale.
Mundo Deportivo today report that Barcelona have now struck an agreement to keep Puig, claiming that a ‘strong’ offer from Tottenham has ultimately come up short.
Puig has even taken to Twitter to state that he is thankful for the support of Barcelona fans, and is glad to be continuing with the best team in the world, all pointing towards Tottenham missing out on the teenager late in the day.
