Southampton, Watford and Bournemouth are reportedly interested in Middlesbrough Marten de Roon’s in the summer transfer window.

Middlesbrough are not having a good season, and there is a strong possibility that they will get relegated to the Championship.

Boro are second from bottom in the Premier league table at the moment with 24 points from 31 matches, as many as six points behind 17th-placed Hull City, who have played two more matches.

The current Middlesbrough squad have some decent players, one among them being Marten de Roon.

The 26-year-old midfielder joined Boro from Italian club Atalanta in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £12 million.

The Netherlands international midfielder has scored three goals and created eight chances in 27 Premier League matches for Middlesbrough so far this season.

If Boro do down to the Championship at the end of the season, then De Roon would not have any problem in finding a club in the Premier League, if a recent report is to be believed.

According to The Sunday People (print edition, page 51, April 16, 2017), Premier League trio Southampton, Bournemouth and Watford are all keen on the Middlesbrough midfielder.

There is still a chance that the Cherries could get sucked into the relegation battle, but Southampton should be able to finish in the top 10 and Watford are likely to finish mid-table.
