Tottenham Hotspur will be without star striker Harry Kane for two months.

According to talkSPORT, Tottenham Hotspur will hold an emergency meeting to discuss their plans to deal with Harry Kane’s injury – and that included a potential promotion for Troy Parrott.

As if Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United wasn’t bad enough, Tottenham have now been hit with more bad news in the aftermath of the loss.

Striker Harry Kane suffered an ankle injury late in the game, and scans have now revealed that he will be out for around two months – a huge blow to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Kane’s absence is compounded by the fact that Sunday’s defeat was also Son Heung-min’s final game before heading off to the Asian Cup with South Korea, as he would have been next in line after Kane.

With Fernando Llorente unlikely to start, talkSPORT now claim that a ‘top-level meeting’ is imminent, in which Spurs will discuss their options to deal with Kane’s absence.

One option is to bring in a loan signing, though it’s unclear just who would be available on loan right now, with the Daily Star reporting that a move for Barcelona’s Malcom could be possible.

Another options is to promote striker Troy Parrott from Tottenham’s Under-18’s. The Irishman is just 16 though, and even though he has scored 12 goals in 19 games for Spurs’ Under-18’s, it’s a huge step up to the Premier League.

Parrott being promoted would certainly excite Spurs fans, much more than using Llorente or even handing a second chance to misfit striker Vincent Janssen, but throwing him into Premier League action would be a major gamble.

Pochettino has shown with the likes of Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp that he isn’t afraid to use Tottenham’s academy prospects, and Parrott would be the next in line if Spurs can’t find a loan deal.
