Sheffield Wednesday completed loan deals for the Newcastle United players, Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar, on Thursday.
Sheffield Wednesday have helped to ‘significantly reduce’ Newcastle United’s wage bill by signing Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar, according to the Chronicle.
The pair left St James’ Park to join Wednesday on half-season loan deals last night.
And despite the threat of a second transfer embargo in as many years hanging over them, the Owls are said to be paying part of their weekly earnings as well as loan fees. However, the Chronicle report fails to provide any figures.
Neither Aarons, a versatile winger, nor Lazaar, a left-back, have appeared for Newcastle at first-team level this season.
And Aarons spent the first half of the current campaign on loan to the Czech side, Slovan Liberec.
They were joined at Sheffield Wednesday by the former Wolverhampton Wanderers right-back, Dominic Iorfa, who moves to Hillsborough permanently, for an undisclosed fee.

Both Aarons and Lazaar have two-and-a-half years left on their Newcastle contracts.
