Everton were linked with Nicolas Pepe before the winger joined Arsenal.

Arsenal have secured the services of Pepe from Lille in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Times to be worth £72 million.
Back in July, The Telegraph claimed of interest in the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international from Everton.
According to The Times, one senior Everton official had this to say about speculation regarding Pepe: “Forget it. We’re running a football club here.”

Good signing for Arsenal?
Pepe is a very good winger who can only get better in the coming years given that he is one 24 years of age.
The Ivory Coast international was a success in Ligue 1 in France, and Arsenal fans will hope that he hits the ground running in the Premier League.
According to WhoScored, Pepe made 37 starts and one substitute appearance in Ligue 1 for Lille last season, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists in the process.
During the 2017-18 campaign, the winger made 31 starts and five substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Lille, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
