Liverpool star Sadio Mane is being linked with a shock move to Real Madrid.

According to a report from France Football, Liverpool star Sadio Mane was very close to signing for Real Madrid before Zinedine Zidane’s exit last week.
Of all the Liverpool talents most would expect to be strongly linked to Real Madrid, it would surely be Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah after his 43-goal campaign.
However, Real seemingly had their sights set on another Liverpool attacker, and were focusing on Sadio Mane rather than a big-money swoop for Salah this summer.

France Football have tonight released a shock report that Mane’s move to Real Madrid was ‘almost done’ last week, before manager Zinedine Zidane announced his resignation, as an agreement had been reached with the player’s representatives, and only an agreement on price with Liverpool was needed.
It’s claimed that Mane was one of the top names on Real’s list alongside David De Gea, Eden Hazard and Harry Kane, with Zidane seemingly keen to lure the Senegal international to the Spanish capital.
However, Zidane’s exit now means that Real’s bid for Mane could be scuppered, with the report adding that any move now depends on Zidane’s successor and whether they want to press ahead with a bid.

The reports have completely come out of nowhere, and Liverpool fans will no doubt be sceptical of such reports, as the claims would suggest that a deal was being negotiated around a similar time to the Champions League final meeting between the two clubs – a game which Mane scored in.
Mane, 26, hit 20 goals in all competitions this past season and continues to be a key figure for Jurgen Klopp thanks to his blistering pace, and it seems hugely unlikely that Liverpool would sell the former Southampton man this summer, though the Real rumours will give fans food for thought.
