The attacking midfielder – a reported summer target for the Magpies – has struggled to settle in Italian football.

A report in the Sun claims Ravel Morrison is ‘expected’ to join Newcastle United in January.
Morrison has played just eight times for Lazio since moving to Italy 14 months ago and was pictured playing five-a-side with friends in his native Manchester this week.
The report claims the 23-year-old, who was criticised by former boss Stefano Piolo for not working hard enough to integrate with his teammates, flies back on a weekly basis.
Should the Sun‘s claim prove accurate, Morrison could have fewer miles to travel in the not so distant future.

The attacking midfielder was strongly linked with a move to St. James’ Park in the final days of the summer transfer window, but the Magpies signed Christian Atsu instead.
A move for Brentford’s Alan Judge was also thought to be on the cards until the Irishman’s slow recovery from a broken leg scuppered his chances of passing a medical.

However, Bees boss Dean Smith suggested earlier this month the club are unlikely to block Judge’s exit should Newcastle return for him in January.
He told Get West London: “The clubs that were interested in him thought he was further ahead in his fitness that he was.

“I don’t think anyone would begrudge Judgey a move to a Premier League or a massive Championship club. I’m sure he’ll come back better than before.”
