It has been reported that scouts from Rangers and Celtic have watched the young Gillingham defender in person this season.
The report has claimed that the League One club in England value the 20-year-old at £1.5 million.
Gillingham manager Steve Evans has said that the club are open to selling the youngster, and he has also claimed that he will get into the Rangers or the Celtic team straightaway.
Evans told The Glasgow Evening Times about Tucker: “I think Jack could play in the Scottish Premiership tomorrow. At Gillingham, we’re not Celtic or Rangers, Hearts or Hibs but we wouldn’t be bottom of the league.
“We’d probably be on a par with Motherwell, maybe. I would certainly say Jack Tucker could absolutely play for Celtic or Rangers.
“He is an exceptional and exciting young talent. He got into our team at the start of the season and after a few games he’s been outstanding and he’s getting better week by week.”
Evans added: “We know we’re not going to be able to stop the kid moving on but obviously it’s got to be right for the club and, more importantly, right for Jack.”
Stats
According to WhoScored, Tucker has made 26 starts and two substitute appearances in League One for Gillingham this season.
The youngster has also played thrice in the FA Cup and scored one goal in three EFL Trophy appearances this campaign, according to WhoScored.
Good signing for Rangers or Celtic?
Rangers and Celtic have very good squads, but one suspects that the Gers and the Hoops will be looking for fresh faces this summer.
For the reported £1.5 million transfer fee, Tucker would be worth a gamble for the Old Firm clubs.
