Newcastle United have been linked with Kevin Gameiro of Atletico Madrid and Everton forward Sandro Ramirez in the January transfer window.

It has been reported that Newcastle manager Benitez was ideally looking to sign a forward with Premier League experience, but the former Liverpool and Chelsea boss is trying to secure the services of the 30-year-old striker after being made aware of his availability.

Benitez, though, is seemingly not putting all his eggs in one basket. According to The Daily Star, the Spaniard will look at Everton forward Sandro if he is unable to sign Gameiro, who is reportedly valued at £16m.

It is quite smart of Benitez to have an alternative, although it is clear that Gameiro would be a better signing than Sandro for Newcastle.
After all, the 22-year-old forward has failed to make an impact in the Premier League since his move to Everton from Malaga in the summer of 2017.
