According to The Daily Record, Celtic will hold further talks regarding signing Joe Hart this week.

It has been reported that Celtic have already held initial talks over the signing of the former Manchester City goalkeeper.

The Hoops will hold a second round of talks with the England international’s advisors in the coming days, according to the report.

The report has claimed that initial discussions were positive, but the signing of Hart on a free transfer this summer depends on whether Celtic can compete the recruitment of Fraser Forster, who spent the 2019-20 campaign on loan at the Hoops from Premier League club Southampton.

Joe Hart or Fraser Forster?

Hart is a good goalkeeper, but he struggled to play for Burnley this season, while Forster was superb for the Hoops this past season.

The Southampton-owned goalkeeper – who cost the Saints £10 million in transfer fees when they signed him from the Hoops in the summer of 2014, as reported by The Guardian – is better than Hart, and he is also in form.

Meanwhile, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has suggested that 21-year-old Patryk Klimala could play an important role for Neil Lennon’s side next season.

Sutton wrote in The Daily Record: “So much has happened over the past few months, it could have slipped the mind Celtic paid serious money for the Polish striker.

“To see he’s come looking bulked up and hungry to make an impact is promising news – and it might save Neil Lennon dipping in to his transfer budget.”
