Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers signed Philippe Senderos in the summer of 2016.

Rangers signed Phillipe Senderos in the summer of 2016 on a free transfer. The 32-year-old centre-back was expected to add experience and leadership to the Gers, but he has been a failure.
Injuries have played their part, but when Senderos has featured, he has not been very impressive. The former Arsenal defender has been able to make only four starts so far this season for Rangers.
According to The Daily Record, the Switzerland international will leave Rangers at the end of the season. It has been reported that Senderos could return to his former club Grasshoppers to become their sporting director.
The Daily Record has claimed that Senderos is on the shortlist to become the sporting director at Grasshoppers.
“He will be up against former Hamburg boss Peter Knabel and former Grasshoppers legend Mats Gren, who made almost 500 appearances for the club and is currently sporting director at IFK Gothenburg,” adds the report.
Rangers fans will not miss Senderos. Like a few other signings made by Mark Warburton, now in charge of Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England, the former Aston Villa defender has been a massive disappointment at Ibrox.
