West Ham United have made a managerial change this week.
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, a host of managers turned down the chance to take the West Ham United job, including Paulo Sousa and Ronald Koeman.
The Hammers parted ways with manager Slaven Bilic on Monday, after the Croatian oversaw a 4-1 home defeat to Liverpool last weekend, compounding a terrible start to the season.
West Ham wasted little time landing a replacement, handing David Moyes the reins on Tuesday having given him a deal until the end of the season.
Moyes will be charged with the task of keeping West Ham in the Premier League, but it seems that he may not have been the first choice for the job.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that West Ham contacted a whole host of managers about taking the job, with Carlo Ancelotti and Sean Dyche among those to snub a move to the London Stadium.
Intriguingly, the report adds that Ronald Koeman and Paulo Sousa also rejected the post, despite currently being out of work, in what would have been a fascinating appointment either way.

Koeman has only just lost his job as Everton manager, but many West Ham fans wanted him to land the job after Bilic’s departure, and the Dutchman may simply have felt that it was too soon to return to football, but given his job at Southampton, he was unsurprisingly a target for the Hammers.
Meanwhile, Sousa – a former Portugal international and Champions League winner – is free after leaving Fiorentina at the end of last season, and a return to English football may have been appealing after spells with Queens Park Rangers, Leicester City and Swansea City, but he is believed to have snubbed the move, leaving Moyes to take the job.
