According to L’Equipe, Celtic ace Odsonne Edouard is set to start for France Under-21’s tonight, having scored twice on Friday as a substitute.

The 21-year-old Bhoys star produced a superb display to help beat Rangers 2-0 in the Old Firm derby before the international break, and took his form into his time with his country.

Edouard was handed his France Under-21 debut in the clash with Albania, with France leading 1-0 through Amine Gouiri’s goal, and Edouard made an instant impact with two goals.

Dan-Axel Zagadou scored too in a 4-0 win, and it’s now believed that Edouard will start for France Under-21’s in their game with the Czech Republic tonight, having impressed boss Sylvain Ripoll.

Ripoll is quoted as saying that Edouard knows how to deal with low defensive blocks as he’s used to them from his time with Celtic, and also praised him as being skilful around the penalty area.

Edouard is really kicking on this season, and Celtic fans will be delighted that he’s still at the club given the summer interest in his signature.

L’Equipe’s report claims that Edouard was in contact with Monaco about a big summer transfer, but he remained with Celtic and wasn’t frustrated about missing out on a move.

Celtic will hope that he remains at Parkhead for some time yet, as he has such huge potential, and will surely be worth a similar price to fellow French striker Moussa Dembele, who left Celtic lst year.
